Here are more details of an example tour itinerary as a starting point, but at Kipling Tours, we can tailor-make any itinerary just for you.

Call or email us to start planning your trip.

  • Day 1

    Fly to Reykjavik

You depart by air from the UK. Flights are possible from a wide range of regional airports, and we endeavour to arrange a morning departure. This will allow time to explore the volcanism and hot mud pools of the Reykanes Peninsular. In the afternoon, transfer to your accommodation in central Reykjavik.

  • Day 2

    Golden Circle Tour

Today you explore the Golden Circle, the name given for the collection of geysers and waterfalls which abound in the South West peninsular of Iceland. You also visit Thingvellir National Park which lies on the boundary of the American and Eurasian tectonic plates. In the afternoon, transfer to the South Coast area of Iceland.

  • Day 3

    Glaciers & the South Coast

This morning you visit the Solheimajokull Glacier where you can possibly take a hike on the surface of the glacier. You also visit the Eyjafjallajökull exhibition which documents the volcanic eruption of 2010. In the afternoon, visit the South Coast near Vik where you will see basalt columns, sea stacks and black volcanic sand.

  • Day 4

    Geothermal Power

Today we make our way back to Reykjavik. Along the route we can visit a geothermal power station, and also se greenhouses where tomatoes are grown using the warmth from geothermal sources.

  • Day 5

    Fly home

This morning we transfer to the airport for our homeward flight which is typically in the morning.

Prices start from

£795 for a 5 day tour

Full board basis based on flights with Easyjet.  We include local guides, all admissions and all local transfers by private coach

includes flights

Easyjet are our preferred option for Iceland tours and there are a range of UK departure airports including London, Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh and Belfast. The main alternative to Easyjet is Iceland Air which would typically add £100 per person to the price of a tour.

The hostel provides breakfast and dinners, and packed lunches can also be arranged.
