School Trips to Jordan

The modern day Kingdom of Jordan straddles many of the Biblical lands known to antiquity.

Its sights includes Mount Nebo where Moses was given a view of the Promised Land, and the city of Madaba with its intricate Byzantine mosaics. More than anything else, however, the country is famous for the ancient Rose Red City of Petra, a beautiful Nabatean temple carved entirely out of the living rock and dating from the first century BC.

Over the past few years, Jordan has developed its own version of the ‘Inca Trail’ which follows a scenic route through the mountains of Wadi Dana and Wadi Araba on the edge of the Negev desert.

Sleeping each night under the stars or in traditional Bedouin camps, the challenging route culminates by following seldom-used paths which take you direcly to the entrance of Petra.

Jordan also has superb Arab horses which make it an excellent destination for a horse riding trip. Nothing could be more thrilling than riding across the deserts of Wadi Rum following in the steps of Lawrence of Arabia.  Wadi Rum is also an unmissable highlight for any tour to Jordan, whether hiking or travelling in 4×4 jeeps. And in the south of the country, the coastal resort of Aqaba provides superb opportunities for beach relaxation and watersports, with excellent snorkelling in the clear, warm waters of the Red Sea
