School Trips to Ecuador & the Galapagos

Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands offer a truly unique experience for students of biology where they are able to see at first hand many of the rare species which so fascinated Charles Darwin on his famous Beagle voyages in the early nineteenth century, and which led to his theory of evolution.

Ecuador is not just about the Galapagos. Part of the country lies in the Amazon basin and is covered with dense tropical forests where the wildlife is equally as diverse as in the more famous islands.  A visit to one of the various eco lodges which operate educational programmes is a great addition to any Galapagos trip.

Ecuador also sits on the Andean chain and all along the central spine of the country lie a series of volcanoes, some of which are dormant and some periodically active.  Known as the Avenue of the Volcanoes, Chimborazo, Cotopaxi and Tungurahua and the better known of these, and a visit to one is a highlight of any trip.
